Family Medicine Locums Physician - North Carolina

Full-time primary care locums position in Wilson, North Carolina, near Raleigh, offering steady weekday hours and phone-only call from home.

Highlights

• Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Phone-only call, shared among four physicians
• No weekend rounding or on-site call

Practice Setting

• Skilled nursing and long-term care facility for adults with dementia and chronic psychiatric or medical conditions
• Dedicated physician office with computer and phone
• Full on-site support: rehab, psychiatry, pharmacy, and social services
• EPIC charting with Dragon dictation

Schedule

• Weekdays: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on-site
• Weekday call: 4:30 p.m. to 8 a.m., phone only
• Weekend call: 24-hour pager from home (rotating among four physicians)

Cases and Procedures

• Daily medical rounds and assessments
• Admission H&Ps, discharges, and 30- or 60-day reviews
• Review of labs, imaging, and medications
• Attendance at care plan and family conferences

Requirements

• MD or DO with active North Carolina license
• Board Certified or Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine
• BLS and DEA certifications required
• Experience with geriatrics or long-term care preferred
